The Takelma series, commissioned by the Cow Creek Band of Umpqua Tribe of Indians, is a preservation initiative to awaken their language, Takelma, after 100 years. The books present vocabulary in the context of traditional tribal tales teaching: animals, places, plants, activities, colors and numbers.
